As part of our campaign for the 2014 European Union elections; Here is the Body of Text which may form the basis of a submission to an MEP. It may be copied and pasted, used as presented or edited for individual preference.
The purpose of this letter is to highlight with yourself, and your respective Political Party of my awareness of the upcoming European Elections on 22nd May 2014.
The European Union, in addition to certain domestic parties propose and encourage further detrimental action towards the shooting sports and discipline’s, and an individuals’ Rights, Liberties and Freedoms in relation to private firearms ownership.
Shooting Organisations have written directly to the European Commission expressing their dismay that UK private firearms owners, as law abiding people are once again under potential attack for no legitimate reason, the proposed EU onslaught likely emanating as a result of a biased and subjective EU survey on criminal firearms activity of which one is confident you are aware.
Respectfully one requests that you support UK shooters by expressing your intention to lobby against any further unwarranted restriction to be imposed in a country that already has some of the tightest controls on private firearms ownership and use anywhere in the world.
As an MEP representing my interests through the democratic process one personally feels that any elected European Parliamentary member who themselves feel unable to support UK based shooting in its entirety and unable to resist any further legislation from the EU limiting Rights, Liberties and Freedoms will no longer be in receipt of any voting right afforded to myself as a UK subject, and exercised at the polling booth.
